Accessibility Statement
We want this website to be usable by everyone, including social workers, families, and young people using assistive technology.
Our aim
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines across this website. This is an ongoing commitment rather than a one-off achievement — we review and improve accessibility as the site evolves.
Clear Navigation
Consistent landmarks, a skip-to-content link, and descriptive page titles throughout.
Keyboard Accessible
All interactive elements — menus, forms, accordions — can be operated by keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
Screen Reader Friendly
Semantic HTML, ARIA labelling where needed, and meaningful alt text on informative images.
Readable by Default
16px minimum body text, strong colour contrast, and layouts that reflow cleanly when text is resized.
Motion-Aware
Animations are subtle by default and disabled entirely for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
Accessible Forms
Every form field has a clear label, helpful hints, and specific, programmatically-associated error messages.
Known limitations
Embedded third-party content, such as the Google Maps panels on our Locations pages, is provided by an external service and may not fully match our own accessibility standards. Address and contact details for every location are also provided as plain text nearby as an accessible alternative.
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier anywhere on this site, please let us know at company@newdawnchildrenhome.co.uk. We’ll do our best to respond promptly and address the issue.
